Sikkim Trekking - North Sikkim Trek

About the circuit: Rhododendron locally known as “ Guras ” is the delight of the Eastern Himalayan mountains, this trek will take you to a land of flowers and ever smiling people. You can experience the sleepy Himalayan village with all its beauties, nurtured in the lap of the wonderful Himalayan Kingdom.

Duration: 14 Nights / 15 Days
Destinations: NJP - Bagdogra - Gangtok - Lachen - Trek to Talem - Jukthang - Yabuk – Pelling

Itinerary
Day 01
NJP/Bagdogra-Gangtok
Reception at Siliguri and Proceed to Gangtok by car (125Kms). Transfer to hotel. free evening and overnight at Gangtok.
Day 02
Lachen
Drive to Lachen (120Kms). A small scenic settlement at an altitude of 9000ft, Lachen is a traditional Lepcha village and the gateway to the higher altitude of Northern Sikkim. The trek to Green Lake starts from here. Overnight at Lachen.
Day 03
Trek to Talem
Trek to Talem (12Kms). At an elevation of 10500ft. The trek passes through the dense coniferous forests of Kunchenjangha National Park. Approx time: 5hrs. Overnight in tents.
Day 04
Talem to Jukthang
Trek from Talem to Jukthang (8Kms). Elevation 10700ft. This is a leisure trek, as it does not require any steep climbing. Approx time: 4hrs. Overnight at Jukthang.
Day 05
Jukthang to Yabuk
Trek from Jukthang to Yabuk (10Kms). Elevation 13200ft. Approx time: 5hrs. Overnight in tent.
Day 06
Jukthang to Rest Camp
Trek from Jukthang to Rest Camp (7Kms). Elevation 14400ft. Approx. time. 3hrs. Acclimatization and overnight at Rest Camp
Day 07
Trek to Pelling
Trek from Rest camp to Green Lake (4Kms). Elevation 15400ft. Approx time 3hrs. Overnight at Green Lake.
Day 08
Yabuk
Return trek to Yabuk and halt.
Day 09
Yabuk to Jakthang
Trek begins from Yabuk to Jakthang, a trek down hill which will give you a unique experience of the pristine beauty of the Valleys overlooked by Himalayan Peaks.
Day 10
Jakthang to Talem
Today we will trek from Jakthang to Talem. Overnight at Tent
Day 11
Talem to Lachen
Trek from Talem to Lachen
Day 12
Lachen to Gangtok
Transfer from Lachen to Gangtok. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13
Gangtok
After breakfast you are free to explore the beautiful capital of Sikkim. Ovenight at hotel.
Day 14
Gangtok
This morning visit Rumtek Monastery and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. OVernight at hotel.
Day 15
Transfer to NJP/Bagdogra
After breakfast you will be transferred to NJP/IXB (Bagdogra Airport) for your onward journey. Tour Ends.

Travel Information:
Tour booking with full payment should reach us at least 15 days in a advance along with full passport details. There will be a cancellation charge of 50% for confirmed booking un to 7 days prior to departure for the journey. No refund thereafter even for NO_SHOWS & DELAYED ARRIVALS due to whatsoever regions

Visa Regulation:
One moth visa for Sikkim & Darjeeling can be obtained from any Indian Embassy or Consulate abroad. The Sikkim permit with Indian visa can also be obtained in Kathmandu, Nepal within one day with a condition that the client should be available in Kathmandu, Nepal visa can be obtained at the airport upon arrival.

Climate:
(Spring Feb/Mar/April 20 C - 25 C. Summer May/June/July 23C. - 29 C. Autumn Aug/Sep/October 16 C. -28 C. Winter Nov/Dec/January 07 C. - 14 C. (Above temperatures are based on day ones)

Clothing:
In general, heavy woollen wears are required in winter. However, a warm Jampur & a jacket are always advised due to the unpredictable nature of the weather. For the trek purpose, following items are recommended: Down jacket, Woollen Sweaters, Cotton/ Woollen Shirts, Woollen Trousers, Long johns, Rain cort, Comfortable trekking shoes, Sun Goggles, Sun hat, Warm Gloves, Suntanlotion, Water bottle, Chapstick, Medical Kit,

Risks & Liability:
Ramdung “Go” Treks & Expedition (P) Ltd. shall always put its all efforts in making your journey smooth and pleasant. However, as be responsible for any charge of cancellation of programmes due to any unavoidable circumstances such as road blockade, flood, snow, and unrest, cancellation of flight, delay arrivals, sickness or accidents. Any extra cost incurring there of shall be borne by the clients. So, it is most advisable that clients to have full insurance against medical and personal accidents. Cancellation insurance is also highly recommended.
