Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu Airport & Transfer to Hotel
Welcome dinner in the evening.
Day 02 Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.
We will be visiting three of the famous heritage sites in Kathmandu. You will visit first the Swayambunath Stupa (Monkey Temple). It is said that Swayambunath Stupa is more than 2,000 years old, and it symbolizes knowledge. The painted eyes on all four sides symbolize the all-seeing power of Buddha. It is an important Buddhist place where pilgrims from all over the world come.
It is a 30 minutes drive to Boudhanath Stupa, another important Buddhist pilgrims site. This ancient Stupa is considered one of the biggest in the World. Every morning and evening, many Buddhist devotees come here to pray and circumambulate enabling the visitors to observe local religious practices.
One of the holiest hindu shrines in the world, The fabulous pagoda houses the linga of Lord Shiva and people bathe in the Bagmati River with a faith of cleansing themselves spiritually. Many Sadhus or Hindu Ascetics live here. During religious festivals, Hindus come to make offerings, and it is sometimes very crowded.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square: This former royal palace complex offers the elegant 15th century Palace of 55 win-dows, artistic courtyards, the Golden gat.
Patan Durbar Square : Durbar Square an enchanting melage of palace buildings, courtyards and pagoda temples, is the center of Patan's religious and social life.
Day 03 Kathmandu- -Trisuli Bazaar – Dunche Drive to Dhunche via Trisuli Bazaar.
Day 04
Dhunche- Bharku- Syabrubesi
From Dhunche there is a decent to the Trisuli river which is reached within half an hour. From the river bed there is a steep climb to Dovan. Right from here a track to Gosainkunda leaves the main trail to Rasuwa Ghari and the Langtang valley. From Dovan there is a gentle climb to 6,400 feet and Bharku village is reached. From Bharku, traversing up and down after crossing a suspension bridge over the Langtang river, the village of Syabrubensi is reached.
Day 05
Syabrubensi - Khanjung - Syarpagaon
After a trek of about one hour from Syabrubensi the small village of Wangal is reached. From here a trail branches off straight eastwards to Rasuwa Ghari. From Wangal there is a steep climb to Khanjung village. In the village there is a good camping site. From there, after 1/2 hr climb a small village is reached, known as Surka. The climb is steep for an hour through thick forest and from there the trail continues straight but not steep. From here, after a gentle descent for nearly 3 hrs, Syarpagoan (8200 ft. ) is reached .
Day 06
Syarpagoan -Lamahotel -Langtang Valley
From Syarpagoan, the trail then traverses up and down through the forest and Ghoratabela (9800 ft. ) is reached within 5 hrs. From there, again a short climb for 1/2 hrs will bring you to a pass to the right of where the Langtang valley begins.
Day 07
Langtang valley to Kyangjing Gompa
From the pass, after trekking for nearly 3 hrs, Langtang village (11200 ft.) is reached. From Langtang there is a gentle ascent for 4 hrs to Kyangjing Gompa.
Day 08 Explore Langshisa Kharka and rest.
Day 09
Kyangjing Gompa-Yala cheese factory-Langtang Ghora Tabala
After visiting Kyangjing Monastery, an excellent look-out can be reached by climbing the slopes immediately behind the Kyangjing Gompa. A visit to Yala Cheese factory (15,800 ft.) and the small lake at 16,000 ft. beyond Yala is worthwhile. Then back to Langtang via same route.
Day 10 Ghora Tabala to Syabrugaon
Trek return to Syabrugoan.
Day 11
Syabru - Sing Gompa (3254 m.)
Today we climb through forests of Fir and Rhododendron. The only sign of human habitation are the occasional shepherds' huts at the water points. We camp near the deserted Sing Gompa.
Day 12 Sing Gompa - Gosainkunda (4300 m.)
A steep, rugged trail but adequately compensated for by dramatic views; to the west Himal Chuli ( 7893m.), Manaslu (8156m.), and Ganesh Himal (7406m.) and possibly even the Annapurna range. To the north across the valley is Langtang Lirug. We pass a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebina, cross a small ridge and have our first views of the holy lakes. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikund Bhariab Kunda and Gosainkunda. According to legend, Gosainkunda was created by Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed some poison.
Day 12
Gosainkund - Thare Pati (360 m.)
We continue over rugged trails and pass several other smaller lakes to the Thare Pati pass ( 4602m.), then we descend along a ridge to the treeline. Past beautiful waterfalls, through Juniper and Rhododendron forests. We descend to the huts of Thare Pati (8 hrs).
Day 13
Thare Pati - Gul Bhanyjang (2130m.)
We drop steadily all day through Fir and Rhododendron forests and then through prickly-leaved Oak forests. We camp at the Tamang village of Gul Bhanjyang. This ridge walk provides excellent views of the mountains and the Helambu valley.
Day 14
Gul Bhanjyanj - Chisopani (2194m.)
Today's walk consists of gentle ups and downs following a ridge to camp just above Chisopai with excellent views of the Himalayan range from Manaslu to Everest.
Day 15
Chisopani - Kathmandu
We climb to the small pass at Burlang Bhanyjang ( 2438m.) and take our last look at the great line of snow peaks of the Himalaya before descending to Sundarijal and the drive to Kathmandu.
Day 16 Kathmandu.
Free day in Kathmandu. Farewell dinner in the evening
Day 17 Kathmandu-Airport-Transfer
Drive to airport fly to onward destination.
